Game Rundown:

This is the match up that everyone has been waiting for. League one powerhouses face off for the first time this year. Undefeated Brentwood (4-0) takes on 5-1 Sachem East. Brentwood has handled everyone in its path outscoring opponents 43 to 8 while Sachem has only stumbled once but has outscored opponents 42-6.

Sachem opened the game with a short game mentally as they bunted the first 4 times up. The strategy paid off in the first as Ashley Goldstein bunted for a single with one out and advanced to second on Sachem's third bunt of the inning. Ashley stole third on the first pitch and scored when the throw sailed into left field to give Sachem a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the first Brentwood came back with a run of their own as Hillary Genova tripled with one out and scored on an infield ground out to tie the score at one.

In the bottom of the third, Erica Edwards walked and Shaakira Samad singled to center to put runners on 1st and 2nd. The next batter hit a ground ball that was misplayed and when the throw went into dead territory one run scored and left Brentwood with runners on 2nd and 3rd. After a wild pitch scored Samad another misplayed ball made the score 4-1. Nicole Flint then doubled to drive in Brentwood's 5th run.

In the bottom of the Fifth Vanessa Acosta singled , Nicole Flint doubled and Kristen Flint singled to drive in 2 runs and give Brentwood a 7-1 lead.

In the top of the Sixth Sachem showed some life as Ashley Goldstein tripled and scored on an infield single however, N. Flint turned up the heat and retired the next 2 hitters to end any thoughts Sachem might have had about a rally.
