Connetquot comes into today's contest on a roll while Brentwood seems to have hit a bump in the road. Connetquot has a 9-4 record and have outscored their last 5 opponents by a 22 to 5 margin. Brentwood took the early lead when Nicole Flint singled and Erica Edwards lined a shot that was misplayed in a sun soaked field for a 3 base error and a 1-0 Brentwood lead.

Connetquot's 3rd started quietly with a pop out and a strike out. Gina Bianculli then roped a one hop line drive that one hopped over the fence for a ground rule double. Kristie Guarino followed with a well placed ground ball through a vacated hole in the infield to score Gina and tie the score at 1. Up stepped Emily Mazzaro who hit a shot that would have given Connetquot a lead but the ball bounced over the fence for a ground rule double and put runners on second and third. On the very next pitch Brentwood catcher Lauren Buscemi threw down to third from her knees for a third out pick off that got Brentwood out of the jam.

In the top of the 5th Connetquot's Bianca Kranz led off with a double and just like that the rally seemed to be on the way. However, Nicole then appeared to put an end to that by getting a strikeout and a come backer to the mound for two outs as things seemed to fall back into place for Brentwood. Then just like that with an RBI single by Kristie Guarino (2nd RBI of the game), an RBI single by Emily Mazzaro and a fence clearing bomb of a Home Run hit by Amanda Morelli to drive in 2 more runs led to a 5-1 Connetquot lead.

Bianca Kranz then followed by retiring 9 out of the next 10 batters she faced.
